The Salsa Club’s Rhythm Express Destination: Dance.

If all good things take time then The Salsa Club’s closure—from February, 2020 to October, 2021—was a test of patience and resilience. Each postponement, while being a deeply felt disappointment, reaffirmed The Club’s commitment to providing a safe space for its dancers. Despite the closure’s unexpectedly long duration, there was a general feeling that when the right opportunity to dance presented itself, The Salsa Club would be waiting and ready.

Now, at the tail-end of what has been a tough year, it is delightful to return to timing and coordination, reawakening dormant muscles, retuning the ears, joining the determined pursuit of rhythm, and the glorious melodic chase with The Salsa Club’s new and returning members.

This playlist—featuring the likes of Luis Mangual, Latin Influence, Dre Zeremba, Melcochita and the Orchestra Zaperoko, the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, Christina Aguilera, Becky G, Nicky Nicole, and Will Smith—is a fun and uptempo compilation that celebrates a long-awaited return to the dance floor while boldly steering towards The Salsa Club’s destination: dance.

All aboard.

Son De Nueva York—Luis Mangual

Apart from salsa, bachata, cha-cha, and other interesting group and line dances make guest appearances on The Salsa Club’s dance floor. In the first week, cha-cha and the electric slide were a wonderful way to get back into the swing and groove of things. “Pas Mis Muchas” and “Getting Jiggy With It” should provide any rhythm enthusiast with some tunes to move along to.

Pas Mis Muchachas—Christina Aguilera, Becky G, Nicky Nicole featuring Nathy Peluso

Gettin’ Jiggy With It—Will Smith
